Parents, Players, and Coaches,

We are pleased to announce that the City of Conway will be providing our fall outdoor sports programs. We have moved back the registration and games by (1) week to accommodate more time to sign up. To comply with all of the State of Arkansas’s guidelines for sports and outdoor venues, the City of Conway’s health and safety officials have decided upon the following rules and guidelines to safely return to play. We wanted to get these out to you so you will know what to expect this fall season. Please know that these guidelines have been made by City health officials in order to comply with the State of Arkansas’s guidelines and also provide further safety to all our citizens and league participants.

• Spectators must wear masks at all times upon entering the facilities for practices and/or games. (Exceptions are listed below)
o If you’re under the age of 10.
o When a spectator has been seated and properly distanced they can remove their mask, but will need to put it back on when standing up to move around again
o Players, coaches, and umpires can remove their masks when on the playing field. (They will need to wear a mask until walking onto the field)
o Coaches and umpires are still encouraged to wear a mask even on the field.
o No other exceptions
• Players must wear a mask in the dugout at all times since social distancing isn’t possible. They will need to reapply their masks when entering the dugout between innings.
• While it isn’t mandatory, players still can wear masks while actively participating on the field if desired. (This is at the discretion of the parent or guardian)
• Kids will need to provide their own glove, helmet, and bat this year. (This is to keep from having to share the same equipment per the State’s community sport directive)
• The City will provide catcher’s gear (Including different masks for each catcher if a team uses multiple kids throughout the game)
• Coaches will be responsible to verbally validate with each of their players before the start of each practice and game that they meet the state guidelines for participation.
• The City will perform the State of Arkansas’s mandatory temperature checks on all coaches, umpires, and staff prior to each practice and game.
• Siblings at the park will not be allowed to run around without direct supervision by their parent or guardian. (We recommend they stay seated with their parent and/or guardian)
• Warm-up areas will not be open or available prior to the game. We will schedule extra time between games to allow warm up to take place on the field.
• Coaches will be asked to keep players (6) feet apart during all drills and practices.
• Per State of Arkansas Directive, the Conway Parks Department will provide hand sanitizer at all entrances and exits.
• Under current Phase 2 guidelines each park is allowed to be at 66% capacity. The Parks Department will be providing staff at the gates enforcing the mask mandate and also keeping count of our capacity restrictions. We will make adjustments as needed if capacity becomes an issue.
• If a player, coach, umpire or family member of participant tests positive for Covid-19 we ask them to notify us immediately. We have been advised on how to immediately respond to the situation by the State of Arkansas’s Health Department. The State Health Department will take over all quarantine requirements at that time and we will work under their guidance.
• If a team must forfeit a game due to Covid-19 or quarantine situations, the game will be declared a forfeit and not made up.
• The 6u division could play some or all of its games at the turfed fields at the Don Owen Complex. (We won’t know if that’s needed until registration is complete)
• Games will be played on Monday and Tuesday nights. Rainouts will be played on Thursday of the same week.
• Registration must be made by credit card or debit card online. You are still welcome to come by the Sports Center during our working hours and we will help you register at our Kiosk. No cash or check payments will be allowed for this season.
